Oxford Health Insurance boosted to A rating

Oxford Health Insurance in New York and New Jersey received an increase in financial safety rating from A.M. Best. The rating was increased to "A" from "A-". A.M. Best cited Oxford's strong brand name regognition and presence in these states, especially in the New York City area. Oxford is an HMO offering coverage to both individuals and businesses. MedSave.com uses InsureMe for quotes and enrollment in Oxford Health Plans since these are not available directly online.

Oxford Health is a subsidiary of Unitedhealthcare offers low cost health insurance through Golden Rule Insurance and other affiliates throughout the rest of the United States. These health plans offer direct online quoting and enrollment.

A.M. Best also reaffirmed the "A" rating for UnitedHealthcare Insurance Co. of New York, Unimerica Life Insurance Co., and UnitedHealthcare of New York, and AmeriChoice of New Jersey.
