Q: Is there a maximum amount you can have in your HSA account? I read somewhere that you can be taxed over a certain amount if you are not a certain age?

A: No, there is no maximum. The limitation is on the size of the contribution each year. The account balance could grow without limitations over a person's lifetime.

Taxation of distributions is based solely on the use of those funds; regular withdrawals for medical purposes are non-taxable, but withdrawals for purposes other than medical expenses are taxable. Age does not matter.
